Our students deserve a curriculum that prepares them for the challenges of tomorrow. This means meeting the unique needs of our diverse learners.

When regular curriculum reviews occur, I will work with input from educators, parents, and industry experts to ensure our students receive an education that is both academically rigorous and practically relevant, as well as research-based and data-driven. Additionally, I support expanding elective classes such as STEM programs, arts education, foreign language offerings, and agriculture to provide a well-rounded educational experience.

One of the most important things we can do as a new district is to make sure our teachers feel championed, not just with words, but with action. That starts with competitive pay. If we want to attract and retain great educators, we have to offer compensation that reflects the skill, dedication, and time they put into helping our kids succeed.

But supporting teachers isn’t just financial, it’s cultural. We need to create a work environment where teachers feel heard, respected, and empowered. That includes meaningful opportunities for teacher input on decisions that affect their classrooms, strong administrative support, support staff to fill in any gaps that may arise, and a culture that celebrates their hard work.

School violence leaves lasting scars. Having experienced it myself, I'm committed to prioritizing student safety and mental health in our schools.

I will advocate for strong, consistent anti-bullying policies, expanded counseling services, and programs like peer mediation that help students resolve conflict and build stronger, more respectful communities. When students are anxious, depressed, or constantly under stress, it becomes nearly impossible for them to focus, learn, or thrive. We must ensure that our schools are equipped not only with trained counselors but also with a culture that prioritizes wellness, teaches emotional resilience, and connects families to the support they need.

As we start fresh with a new district, we have a rare opportunity to build a strong foundation rooted in smart, transparent financial decisions. Every dollar will matter, and I will work to ensure that our funding directly supports the students, staff, and schools that make our community thrive.

This means carefully planning and prioritizing new facilities to keep up with growth while avoiding unnecessary spending. We also need to invest in academic programs, interventions, and enrichment opportunities that meet the diverse needs of all our learners, whether that’s special education services, advanced coursework, or career and technical pathways.

Fiscal responsibility isn’t just about cutting costs; it’s about making wise, value-driven decisions. As a board member, I’ll work to ensure that every budget decision is thoughtful, student-centered, and grounded in long-term sustainability. Our families deserve nothing less.

I deeply value our students with special needs and alternative learners, and I believe that meeting their needs isn’t just a legal obligation — it’s a moral one.

Every child deserves a meaningful, individualized education that helps them thrive, no matter their challenges or learning style. As a district, we must ensure that our special education programs are fully supported, that families feel heard and included, and that educators have the resources they need to serve every student with dignity and care. When we prioritize our most vulnerable learners, we strengthen the entire school community.

Utah County is experiencing significant economic growth, driven by key industries like Silicon Slopes (technology), advanced manufacturing, life sciences, and healthcare innovation. CTE programs are vital in bridging the skills gap in the workforce and preparing students for these high-demand, high-wage jobs.

By strategically implementing CTE programs in our schools, we give students hands-on experience and real-world skills that match what employers need. Through CTE, students will earn industry certificates, gain technical training, and even earn college credit—all while still in high school. These programs help students start their careers sooner and earn more, while also supporting local businesses with skilled workers. By investing in strong CTE programs, we can make sure Lake Mountain students are ready for today’s jobs and tomorrow’s opportunities.
