Being on a school board isn’t about running the day-to-day operations—that’s the superintendent’s job. Board members are leaders, policymakers, and stewards of the public’s trust in education. She’s one of the most passionate, dedicated people I know, someone who works hard, always shows up, and truly cares. She's the kind of person who helps you accomplish your goals and shows up right with you to get things done. When she is passionate about something she is involved and in the trenches, not sitting on the sideline. She loves our school system and is committed to making it the best it can be for students, families, and teachers alike. As a mom of young children I've seriously debated putting my kids in the public school system because of the issues we've seen with over crowded schools, overwhelmed teachers, and parents being intentionally out of the loop. Over the last year, I have gotten to know Holland, and while I’ve worked with many people throughout my career, Holland is one individual I have worked with who uniquely stands out.

During our time together, Holland displayed great talents in leadership, team building, accountability, optimism, strong communication skills, and a passion for education and students’ well-being.

Holland was a joy to work with because she was able to listen to everyone's ideas and find a way to collaborate as a team. She is very accountable and was always there, helping any time she said she would be there. If Holland were unable to attend a school event, she would make sure that everyone had what they needed and that we had enough help. Holland’s amazingly positive attitude is what makes her stand out the most. Oftentimes, she is the one who brings the fun or finds the positive in all situations. Last year, Holland brought amazing changes to our school as our PTA President-elect. She helped start a few new programs and family fun events, such as Classic Skate night, where families could come and spend time together. She also took the lead on Badger lunch bunch, where families could come and celebrate student birthdays by eating lunch together and enjoying a birthday treat. We had a lot of positive feedback and will continue these amazing programs at our school.
